Sammy lay on the ground, staring up at the sky. The stars were out and the moon shone brightly down on her. What a peaceful night. She thought, as she adjusted her headphones and turned up the music. No mom, no dad, no younger siblings asking me to play with them. I do feel kinda bad about abandoning Abby though. She sighed and closed her eyes, breathing in the warm night air and releasing it in a long slow breath. Sammy had been lying there for a while now, relaxing, trying to escape her rambunctious younger siblings. So far, everything had been going well. She had climbed the trees pf the nearby forest earlier to get a better view of the field and it had been amazing. The field seemed to stretch on forever and the small patches of flowers that dotted it had been breathtakingly beautiful.
Sammy was enjoying herself thoroughly and was dreading when she would have to go back when her cell phone rang, interrupting her music. Pulling it out of her pocket she sighed and answered it. "Hello?" She asked quietly with a slight irritation in her voice. "Yeah I'm still alive. I promise I won't die out here." The irritation disappeared, replaced by the smallest of smiles. "Yeah Abby, I'll be ok. I'll come back soon. Please make sure the little ones don't burn the house down. I appreciate it. Thank you, bye." After the short conversation, she hung up and un-paused her music. Her favorite song starts playing and she begins to sing along in a soft melodic voice.

There was a time when I was alone
Nowhere to go and no place to call home
My only friend was the man in the moon
And even sometimes he would go away, too
Then one night, as I closed my eyes
I saw a shadow flying high
He came to me with the sweetest smile
Told me he wanted to talk for awhile
He said, "Peter Pan—that's what they call me.
I promise that you'll never be lonely."
And ever since that day...
I am a lost boy from Neverland
Usually hanging out with Peter Pan
And when we're bored we play in the woods
Always on the run from Captain Hook
"Run, run, lost boy," they say to me.
Away from all of reality
[2x]
Neverland is home to lost boys like me
And lost boys like me are free
He sprinkled me in pixie dust and told me to believe
Believe in him and believe in me
Together we will fly away in a cloud of green
To your beautiful destiny
As we soared above the town that never loved me
I realized I finally had a family
Soon enough we reached Neverland
Peacefully my feet hit the sand
And ever since that day...
I am a lost boy from Neverland
Usually hanging out with Peter Pan
And when we're bored we play in the woods
Always on the run from Captain Hook
"Run, run, lost boy," they say to me.
Away from all of reality
[2x]
Neverland is home to lost boys like me
And lost boys like me are free
[2x]
Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy Darling
Even Captain Hook
You are my perfect story book
Neverland, I love you so,
You are now my home sweet home
Forever a lost boy at last
And for always I will say...

As the song ends, she takes a deep breath and exhales loudly. God, I love that song. Her expression is peaceful and her music continues playing loudly in her ears as she lays there, relaxed , with her guard down and her mind at ease. She subconsciously starts tapping out the drumbeat for the song playing on the side of her leg. The stars twinkle silently in the night sky and the leaves rustle with the breeze.
