Max was excited to fine the Darkness and take them out. Of course they did have to find them first. They expected to run in and see a lurking shadow then just go and kill it, but nope. The ran for about a minute before they stopped and sighed. Max looked around at the surrounding area. It was dark, so how were they supposed to hunt Darkness? Max grumbled to themself as they walked. If there was a Darkness in the area then Max could steal their ability to see in the dark, but of course there wasn't so they just had to stumble along. It wasn't optimal for hunting.
Max had been walking for another minute when Tomo hissed quietly around their next. With that slight warning knew that they had to move or be skewered. They were right. A small teleport to the left and Max was left facing a non too happy Razor who had just missed its target. Max decided that now was a good time to test out the new power they had swiped and slowed down time. It was interesting to watch the usually incredibly fast Razor lunge out at Max at a normal speed. It was pretty cool, but they were still dangerous. Max laughed and dipped out of the way of the monster. They were about to turn and swing their weapon when a crash sounded and the Razor snapped into a bolt of lightning and then back again, creating Max's fear.
There was a slight waver in Max's swing, but it wasn't enough to save the Razor from being sliced in half. Then it was gone and Max let time bounce back to normal and they just stood there smiling. That had been fun, despite the lightning thing. Max was about to go deeper into the forest when they heard an inhuman scream come from behind them. That must be a Razor. Max teleported backwards in there path. They ran back towards the field until they spotted Sammy through the trees.
Max teleported in front of Sammy and smiled at her. "I killed a Razor. Did you hear the other one scream? Did you cause that? Did you kill it? Have you killed two yet?" Max rambled off their questions and then stopped. Sammy probably couldn't answer all of them at once. Then Tomo raised her head and began slithering around Max's body like she was concerned about something. Max grabbed the corn snake and let her hang out on their hand. They only acted like that around blood. Then Max understood. "You're hurt aren't you? Oh jeez Alana won't like hearing about this. How bad is it?" Max began asking questions again as they looked for the wound that Sammy probably had.
