Aiko walked through the quiet park, the only sounds to be heard from the trees blowing gently in the summer breeze. She took a deep breath and looked at the sidewalk which was stained in the light of morning. Aiko had always come here to let off some steam and allowed herself to let her guard down for only a short time. She had a gentle look today, no anger, no fear, but she had a certain yearning. A yearning for freedom. If you looked close enough in her blood red eyes there could be a spark of hope that seemed like all the good and bad she believed could come true would. Although for as far as she knew the school had crushed that hope. 

Walking a little farther her eyes caught the most beautiful Sakura tree. It was a medium length, it's branches spread out a a fair distance, it's petals a soft pink color. She blinked and then made her way towards the tree. It seemed to be the ideal place to rest. Already smelling it's sweet scent she breathed it in with a sigh, revealing a small and rare smile. Her feet crushed the already fallen petals as she leaned against the tree, closing her eyes gently. She hoped that nothing could stop this feeling of peace and happiness since all of it had already been taken from her. 

As shr began to fall asleep slowly but surely her ears caught the sound of a buzz not far from her. Snapping from her relaxation she quickly looked both ways to see where the noise had come from. Heart pounding, eyes widening, she laid her eyes on a spider that had just caught a fly right in front of her face. Frozen in fear she lifted her finger and stuttered, "Sp-sp-spider!" Aiko could almost feel a scream in the back of her throat as she hurried to try escaping the situation she was currently in. Carefully she made her way out from behind the two "horrifying" bugs and tried to scramble as fast as she could seay from tree. Feeling only a moment of victory, she noticed something, she was no longer on her two feet. She had tripped over a fairly large stone. Feeling the force of gravity pulling her down she squeezed her eyes shut. I'm fall-ing

Dami had been coming to the park for a while now. It was quiet and allowed her to work on her studies from the Chaser Academy. What does this type of Darkness do? How do you control your fears? How do you control your powers. Dami knew the answer to all these questions. She controlled her fear with her power and she controlled her power through focus. She wrote this down as she sat on a bench. It was a really nice day out and bright enough that there might not even be a Darkness attack that day. Hopefully.

Dami was almost done some of the questions from the book when she heard somebody shout something. Dami stood and quickly made her way over to where she had heard the shout coming from. It was a tree with pink blossoms and a girl was quickly escaping from something. Dami got a little closer just as the girl began to trip. As quickly as possible Dami caught her. "Why did you shout?" Dami asked as she looked around for signs that Darkness was there. Dami decided after a while that there wasn't really any and then she looked down at the person in her arms.

The girl had pink hair, just like Dami did, but her eyes weren't blue and she wasn't wearing a mask to cover her features. The girl's eyes were red, which was slightly worrying, but who really cared. Dami enhanced the sound of the girl's heart only to find that it was slowing down. So she had a scare, but it was over now. Probably not Darkness then. Why else would the girl scream like that though.

Aiko's eyes were still squeezed shut as she expected a shower of pain to sweep over her but yet she felt nothing. Carefully she opened one eye and noticed that a girl with pink hair had just caught her. Quickly she jumped out of her arms and cleared her throat a little, rubbing her arm. She had asked why she had screamed, wasn't it obvious! A deadly spider had just tried to kill her! Even worse it was warning her by eating the fly right in front of her face! Her eyes widened and she asked in a soft, high pitched voice, "Didn't you see the spider? It was going to kill me!" Her heart was still beating fast from the falling feeling and to be honest she was a bit shaken, it was almost like the world was trying to scare her.

Only a moment later did she realize what had happened. Remembering past events she recalled that when she got scared or alarmed her hands would start to get cold, creating ice. Quickly she lit a quick flame in her hand, making sure that the girl did not see either so she turned her back. After getting back to normal temperature she looked back at the girl. Had she seen what Aiko had just done or was she just staring at her for the heck of it? Making sure to not sound suspicious she asked, "Um, were you looking for something?" It seemed that she was worried. Maybe that's not the right word, more like alert. Aiko knew what that was like, always having to be on guard, never letting anyone past your barrier.

Dami watched as the girl quickly stood up, jumping away from Dami fairly quickly. It was pretty interesting. If she was jumpy then maybe Dami could freak her out. Eh she had already been freaked out. The girl was saying something about a spider. Saying how it was going to kill her. Dami highly doubted that the spider would kill the girl, but Dami looked over at the tree anyways. Sure enough a spider was there and fiddling with something. Dami walked over to see what it was. Just as Dami was about to look she heard a crack and then small popping. That confused her. Dami had good ears and to her it sounded like ice being cracked by fire.

dami spun around and eyed down the girl again. Was she looking for something? "I thought there might be Darkness in the area." Dami stated and then began circling the girl. Dami knew that there wasn't any ice around here so that meant it had to be some sort of power. The only person that might have an ability was the girl. Nobody else was near enough and Dami was positive that wasn't her powers. "Do you have any sort of ability?" Dami asked suspiciously. "Especially pertaining to ice?" Dami stared the girl down, the spider was completely forgotten now.

Aiko's attention was turned towards the girl as she heard the word 'darkness'. She wondered if they had the same thing in mind. The darkness she was thinking of was a group of cruel and evil people, maybe she had just been talking about darkness as in night or something. Although she had a quick change in mind as she noticed what had come out of her mouth. They were talking about the same darkness. She did not intend to give away her ability so easily though. Acting clueless she tilted her head to the side, her pink hair falling a little in her face and she asked gently, "What about darkness? Aiko hoped that this would be good enough to not blow her cover. Now that she thought about it though, maybe this girl was part of darkness! She was wearing a mask which was suspicious and asking all these questions made her think she was a shifty character. This would change everything.

She watched as the pink haired girl began to circle her. Did she think that would intimidate her? Well then this girl was in for a surprise. Narrowing her eyes she gained a little bit of a snarl her sharp eyes not leaving her for a second. She would find out who she was. She had said something about an ability and to be honest, she had no intention to give it away so easily. Her voice now icy cold and hostile she said, "And why should I tell you?" She would make sure to make this girl go away at all costs.

Deciding that now would be a good time to use her new shadow element she created a puff of smoke which was really shadows and made a run for it. She made her way behind a thick tree just as soon as her cover up had vanished. Her breathing hard, heart beating wildly in her chest, she cupped a hand over her mouth to prevent being heard, at times like these she had to be careful. She quickly glanced back, not daring to peak her head out though and closed her eyes trying to cool herself down. Aiko was positive she would try to find her location.

Dami was kind of confused when she asked about the Darkness as if it wasn't what it was, as if it was just being dark out. Did people not know that there were deadly monster running around capable of killing them? Dami was really suspicious of the girl now. Who didn't know what the Darkness were? She was either hiding something or she had been kept in a basement for her whole life. Dami was about to ask what it was when the other girl got really hostile about her power. Dami almost laughed. It was a simple question so why was she freaking out so much?

The puff of smoke that came next fascinated Dami. She wasn't even worried that the person was hiding she was just preoccupied with sticking her hand in and out of the smoke and seeing how it didn't even swirl. It wasn't even smoke it was something else. Dami had to ask the girl now. So she used her power to find her heartbeat and breathing and followed it behind a tree. The girl had her eyes closed and was breathing hard. Why was she so freaked out? What did she think was going to happen to her?

"Hey listen that smoke thing you just did was cool, but it wasn't smoke. Mind telling me what it is? Also what your power is?" Dami gave her best smile even though the other girl couldn't see it. Sure she wasn't exactly friendly, but she wanted to know about this girl's power. She also wanted to know why she was freaking out so much. Dami just didn't really understand. It was probably because the girl was hiding something or crazy. Or she was hiding something and crazy. Dami couldn't really tell at this point.

Aiko listened as the girls voice had become now more interested and allowed herself to relax a little without letting her guard down. She slowly opened her red eyes, which were still hostile and had a small glare. Carefully she crossed her arms, asking, "Are you part of the darkness? Answer now or get ready to be beaten." Her threat sounded as cold as her ice, although it came out so easily. It was odd for her, being so comfortable with making threats to strangers. Maybe she really was getting something out of her lessons. Quickly she dismissed the thought, returning to the girl. 

She decided though it would be alright if she told her a simple explanation of her power. Since she might be part of the darkness she might as well as scare her off before something terrible happened. Making her voice less harsh she put it simply showing no excitement, "It's true it was not smoke, but shadows. And I am a element manipulator." If this did not scare her off at least a little then she did not know what else to do. If it was true she was part of the darkness then she would know about what strong and weak powers were, so if she knew what was best her she should run. 

Aiko wanted to give her a true taste of her power. Feeling a bit of mischief she lit a small flame in her hand. Although its size was no hoot, the heat was what mattered. The heat was almost overwhelming, but of course for her it was nothing but a mere weak flame, but to touch it would be sure to burn to the bone. She lifted her eye brow and asked with curiosity, "Are you still interested in my ability?"

This girl was really confusing Dami. Part of the Darkness? Why would Dami want to be a part of the things that could possibly kill her? What would she even do there? How would she even join that specific group? Dami had no clue, but she would sooner die than work for the Darkness and the fact that this girl thought that she might be so spineless as to try really tick Dami off, of course Dami didn't say this. She was still trying to get on the girl's good side and figure out what her power was. Dami wasn't entirely sure what had gotten her on the girl's bad side in the beginning, but it had happened and now she had to climb out of the hole.

Although it seemed it wasn't necessary because the girl answered what her power was. Elemental Control. Dami thought that was pretty cool. She had control over a few things too, but not as many as all the elements. Just senses and sound. She wondered what all the girl had power over. Fire, water, shadows, light, ice, ground, wind. What all could she do? This was probably one of the coolest powers Dami had seen so far. She was eating it up.

Then the girl flicked the flame on. Dami wasn't even close to it and she could feel the heat radiating off of it. That really got her attention. Dami was like a child when it came to powers. She was always excited to learn about new ones and this probably took the cake for all time coolest powers. Dami brought her hand as close to the flame as she could bear, which still wasn't very close. "That is sweet." Dami muttered under her breath. She wondered what it felt like to the girl. Was she resistant to all fire or just her own? "Well I'm not a part of the Darkness and yes I am very interested in your ability." Dami kept bringing her hand closer and then farther away from the hot little flame that the girl was holding.
