As the girl looked away and told Laurent he would regret the decision to kill her, Laurent knew it was true. He already had murdered the pair of guards protecting Oliver, and now he was given the opportunity to end the bodyguard that had granted his target's escape. Although his regrets about killing people came to mind, it didn't show on Laurent's face. He kept his gun aimed, forbidding it to falter from the girl, but that was when the name Evans was mentioned. There was one person who came to mind instantly, which was Marcus Evans, Laurent's biological father that his mother had tried desperately to protect him from. Momentarily, Laurent felt a cold rush of fear come over him, his mother had told him a book's worth of nasty things about the crime boss she once knew. "... You seem to know a lot," Laurent responded quietly.
Laurent didn't respond to the girl's comment about pointing a gun and not shooting being a rather rude course of action. She soon went on to mention how she hadn't bothered trying in the fight, even closing her eyes and opening them near the end in some sort of dramatic effect. That was when Laurent's aim suddenly changed, and rather than shooting the girl, he shot to the right side of her head. "Consider yourself lucky that I don't have a killing appetite today," Laurent muttered. He officially had no more bullets, making his gun practically useless without the metal ammunition. Tucking the gun away in the pocket of his trench coat, Laurent stepped to the side and headed for the door, which no longer looked like a wall. "Also, next time we meet, I recommend not mentioning Sophie... I tend to get a little angry when someone mentions her," Laurent added before exiting the building.
Truthfully, Laurent couldn't care less if someone actually found her or not, since she had made him fail after all. Silent like a shadow, Laurent disappeared from the area, knowing that he would have some questions to ask Aaron a few questions. Once he did, nothing would've truly changed, but the orders once given changed from an assassination to protection duty as Aaron's plans were beginning.
