Vashti had woken up this morning after pondering what she would do later today if somebody had come in to attack Oliver, she didn't like following his orders but he was still her brother and she didn't want to loss him just because he couldn't keep his mind focused. Today was their birthday, many had come to give gifts to the twins, but Oliver was the one who got to blow out the candies on the cake, she didn't mind though she didn't have any wishes that she cared to uphold at this current time. She had found out about her agility and force field when she had turned fifteen, but as far as she was aware she didn't have any other powers than that. It was okay though because that was why she was made his body guard, Oliver couldn't defend himself if his life depended on it.

She had been checking the grounds with a couple of guards when she heard the panic, she sent the guards the other way as she ran the other way, seeing a man in front of Oliver, the guards who were there to protect her brother was dead. She could hear her brothers words and she rolled her eyes as he was begging for his life. It just seemed so low for him, if she didn't know better, Oliver had wasted his wish again. She could hear something coming out of his pocket though and since there was a cut on her brother's face she opted for just going right on in. Vashti ran towards Oliver and pushed him out of the way just as she heard firing. That was close.

Oliver was sitting on the ground behind her as she looked at the man standing right in front of him. She had seen his picture before but where.... She held her sword up in the air as she allowed it to cross her mind. Laurent? "It's not everyday I get your presence here? Come to kill my brother?" She glanced to look behind her at Oliver before looking back at Laurent. "You failed your mission." She stated in a matter of a fact, staying in front of Oliver as he moved to flee. "Oliver, I'll be right behind you...." She promised, watching him go before looking back towards Laurent. I won't kill you, but I want to know how good you've gotten.... "It looks like I got here just in time." She stated, lifting up her sword, waving her hand at him as if encouraging him to start.

[Laurent Maythorn]

Preparations were always made before missions, and that was what Laurent did whilst he awaited for the sun to drop behind the horizon. He'd dressed himself in a black long sleeve shirt along with pants before pulling on his trench coat. With a sigh, Laurent began picking up a few daggers, placing them inside the sleeves of the coat, where he could tug them loose easily. A ring full of throwing knives was hooked onto his right side, next came his pair of short swords which were placed in the sheaths hidden beneath the black coat. Lastly, Laurent slipped a gun into his right pocket along with a few bullets before tying his boots and heading out. Standing outside the building, Laurent took a glance at the photo, smiling upon seeing he'd found the right place. "Okay, time to get working," Laurent uttered quietly.

Blending with the crowd, Laurent entered the party in the same way a normal person would, but gave caution to keep attention off of him. Upon entering, the loud noises produced by parties began, making Laurent rather displeased with the situation he was given. A faint scent of alcohol clung to the air, suggesting that any drinking had only began a few moments ago. Ignoring all scents, Laurent clung to the wall, weaving his way towards a man who was stationed on the far side of the large room. Only moments of observing allowed Laurent to figure out that the man was his target, which brought reason for Laurent to approach. Once he closed a majority of the distance between him and his target, two large men stood between him and the target. "What do you want?" One asked, his gaze a glare. "Oh, just came to report there have been a bunch of letters," Laurent answered, a smirk on his face.

The guards gave him a puzzled look, "Letters?" A small laugh came from Laurent, which only made the guards more confused. "Yeah," Laurent began as he drew the released the daggers from their bindings. With one swift and fluent movement, Laurent slashed out with both of his and sliced the throats of the guards. "Yeah, they're black letters, you know? The type you get if someone dies," Laurent answered, turning his sights on his target. All music had ceased, and all guests screeched and filtered out of the room as fast as they could. "Now your turn," Laurent quietly said as he slashed out. The man he attempted to kill toppled to the ground, the blade only making an unimpressive cut on the cheek. "Shoot, I missed," Laurent sighed as the man began begging for his life. While the man pleaded, Laurent slipped the daggers into his pockets and drew out the gun he had.

"Sorry, bud, I've gotta job to do, but I'll make it quick," Laurent answered as he took aim. A tiny smile was on the assassin's face as he pulled the trigger, but he soon found himself disappointed. For a moment, Laurent's gaze lingered on the hole his bullet had made before drifting towards the girl who'd saved his target. "... I missed. Great," Laurent uttered sarcastically. The girl held her sword up, and even began to talk to Laurent about failing his mission and such. Anyone who looked at Laurent could tell he wasn't amused by the words the girl used. "Heh, last time I checked this was the first time I've been here," Laurent responded, shrugging off the idea of failure. His gaze followed his target as he flew towards the nearest exit. Once the girl spoke again, Laurent's gaze returned to event at hand. "Yeah, you did princess, consider yourself lucky I didn't kill him with my original attack."

Laurent observed as the girl lifted her sword and even waved her hand, making it clear she wanted to fight. "Hmm, that's a shame. I don't want to fight you, I would much rather pursue my target, but I guess I don't have a choice, now do I princess?" Laurent began before giving a small shrug. "Damn, guess I'll have to fight you first," he said. With that, Laurent fell back to the basics of his battle plans, which consisted of clever trickery and a fighting style most would call cowardice. With his illusion ability, Laurent shrouded the room in a fake mist, giving himself a proper hiding place in the practically empty room. Quickly, the assassin checked his pockets for how many bullets he had, and unfortunately there weren't many. An inaudible sigh escaped Laurent's mouth as he made a replica of himself to appear as a shadow in the mist. Truthfully, he wanted to lead the girl into the mist and distract her in order to sneak around and slash with one of his daggers.

Vashti found herself smiling at him since he had missed, she didn't see a point in hiding back her amusement. "Yes, but so far, you are the only one who managed to get that close. Never again." She promised clearly planning on being in his way. He had called her Princess and she found herself rolling her eyes at him. Laurent made it clear that he didn't want to fight her but it was okay, as much as she didn't want to fight him she would anyway. He was the only one who would get such mercy from him. "That is right, you don't have a choice. Laurent." She stated, hoping to catch him off guard but knowing exactly who he was. His words made her smile but he had caused a mist to surround them. Hmm.... I don't like him using his fake moves on me. She opted to stay where she was at, that was until she saw him and she ran forward to slash at him with her sword, just to find out it was a fake.

She felt something cut her from behind, she turned and slashed out, hoping to get him in the stomach for such a trick. She couldn't see in the mist to know for sure if she had got him or not though. "Is that all you got?" She taunted, clearly interested in seeing his next move. I should really get out of this fog, it isn't doing me any good because I just can't see.... She remembered where she had seen him last and opted to rush towards the nearest wall so that she could place her back against it to avoid being hit in her back again. "Laurent.... come out come out where ever you are." She continued, wondering if he had figured out just who he had opted to pick a fight with just yet. She raised the sword in front of her, back in her previous stance as she waited for his next move.

A smile had crawled its way upon the face of his target's presumed bodyguard, or Princess as Laurent had referred to as. Amusement was the look she wore, making it clear that she had enjoyed seeing Laurent's bullet miss along with his failure. Upon hearing he'd gotten the close, a tiny smile appeared on his face as he glanced at Princess. "Then I should feel honoured, I almost killed your little friend. Oliver was his name if I'm correct, and hopefully I get him next time," Laurent responded, his hazel eyes watching Princess like a hawk. However, upon hearing his name come from the girl's mouth, his smile faltered momentarily until rebuilding. "So you know my name Princess? Care to share how you figured that out?" Laurent asked while the mist came in. Silently, Laurent watched as Princess rushed his fake, allowing him to get a hit on her before she slashed out.

Quickly, Laurent backpedaled, but felt the sword graze his stomach enough to produce a thin, bloody cut. Hiding once again in the safety of his illusion, Laurent's hand felt the cut, causing him to wince slightly at the sting it create. "Man, that hurt, Princess," Laurent mocked in response to the taunt. Although he doubted she would be able to see him, Laurent gave a slight shrug. "Well, that isn't everything," Laurent responded. Slowly, and quietly, Laurent moved from his location while listening to the pounding of feet within the mist. Eventually, he stopped and located the girl who'd opted to stay near a wall to avoid his many tricks. When she said his name for the second time, Laurent snickered as he fiddled to get a knife from his ring of throwing knives. "Are you trying to make an attachment by using my name, Princess? I hope you know that won't work, I've played this game too long for that to be my downfall," Laurent said.

Soon, a throwing knife was in his hand, his fingers gently gripping the handle as he brought his arm back and threw straight. Laurent's aim was meant to hit her shoulder once again in hopes of weakening the girl's sword skill. Without much thought, Laurent's hand went back to the ring to detached a second knife in order to continue his onslaught.

Vashti huffed, "I doubt you'll ever get that chance." She corrected him, having no plans on losing. "Nope, I plan on taking that secret to my grave." She answered him back, not caring to tell her brother her little secret. She was glad that she got him before she fled to the wall, glad to hear he was still giving her more to fight with. "I don't see the harm, I have every reason to make an attachment as you call it." She paused, "Of course it will work pretty boy." If he was going to keep calling her princess the least she could do was give him one in return. She saw the knife coming towards her and she swung her sword to make it fly away from her, though he had thrown a second one and it had hit her in the shoulder. She pulled the knife out of her shoulder, debating on if she wanted to throw it back at him or keep it nearby her or not. She was near the wall but she felt like she was bound to not get any hits in if she didn't rush on towards him.

She held the knife in her hand, opting to run towards him, knowing he could use his mist to hid himself, so she would threw the knife in one direction before trying to find him in another spot to get a hit in. At the very least, she could hit him with her sword, not with the goal of cutting him, but getting smacked by such a thing would still hurt like hell. I really am not ready to leave just yet but I almost wonder if I should leave and check on Oliver and check on Laurent another day, it's not everyday that I get so to spend some time with my other brother. "About your target, he isn't my friend, he is my brother, silly." She wanted him to know that he had targeted his own brother when he finally figured out their relationship to them. "Have you figured out how I found out yet?" She asked, still holding that smile on her face.

A small shrug was the only motion Laurent made towards the idea of not getting a chance to kill Oliver. "I don't know, Princess. I got pretty close, which means one slip up and I could be successful," Laurent responded, noting the determination in the girl's voice. One thing rang clear, that Princess was determined to win this duel, or probably die trying. There was still a nasty sting coming from the cut Laurent had obtained, but to him it felt mild, almost like nothing. "Heh, c'mon Princess, that strategy doesn't work if I know about it. Besides, how would I get attached to someone who has proven to be a nuisance in my mission," Laurent chuckled. Shortly after his first throw, Laurent managed to get the second throwing knife in his grip. Once again he aimed for the shoulder, but this time the knife sank into its target.

Before Laurent was given the chance to get another knife, one of the knives he'd thrown previous was soaring back at him. Laurent sidestepped to the right to avoid the knife, but felt the blade graze the upper section of his left arm. Momentarily, Laurent looked at his new wound, which was bleeding only slightly, before shrugging and focusing on the battle. Once he glanced up, he realized that the Princess had moved away from the wall, but was still speaking. "You act like I would know. I get commands, and like the dog I am, I do as I'm told," Laurent responded, looking around for Princess. A little on the late side, Laurent saw Princess rushing him, forcing him to backpedal once again, but this time his body wasn't met with a blade. He felt as the smack collided with the scratch he'd gotten from the knife, but Laurent toughed through the pain. Swiftly, his right hand plunged into his pocket, retrieving the gun from before. Feeling he didn't have enough time to aim, Laurent pulled a shot that was aimed for the legs rather than the torso.

"What was that about, Princess? Have a problem hurting me? And not yet," Laurent responded, noticing the smile. His tone was in mockery, most who'd come face to face with him were furious and trying to kill him for revenge or defense. Clearly he had provided from entertainment for the bodyguard, either that or she liked a good fight.

Vashti knew he was right but that was the thing, she would never slip up like this again. The next time somebody came in to get Oliver, she would be there and have somebody else patrolling. "You weren't successful this time and you won't be having a next time chance, that I promise." She found herself smiling, "Everybody finds me as a nuisance, you aren't special in that subject." She answered him back, upset that the dagger had got her shoulder, but she had gotten him back with it. He gets commands? From who? The thought had caught her off guard, You aren't a dog, you are my older brother Laurent.... "You aren't a dog..." She corrected him, wanting to say more but didn't, she was holding back though, what ever secret she had on him, it was a big one. "I can't see your family agreeing with you on the subject."

She heard the gun fire but didn't feel pain, meaning he must have missed, but she had to be on guard again to avoid getting shot at. "Maybe I'm not ready to kill you yet Laurent." She answered him back, I really don't want to scratch him up.... just get him tired.... maybe get him to pass out so that I can tie in him in a chair and never let him go. The question had made her flinch though, she moved towards him again, planning on smacking him with her blade. At the very least she could get that endurance of his to decrease.

A small smirk came upon Laurent's face when the girl mentioned him not getting a second chance to go after his target. "Oh, really? Cause I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve," Laurent said with a slight chuckle. As Princess started about him not being a dog, Laurent couldn't help, but to begin laughing again. "How would you know, Princess? As far as I'm concerned, I am a dog. And of course my family would say otherwise, but then again they would say otherwise even if they agreed," Laurent responded, pausing for a moment. "Besides, why do you care if I call myself a dog? Don't be foolish Princess, trying to defend me from that title won't help you," Laurent added. Watching as his bullet missed for the second time, Laurent wasn't too impressed with his performance with his gun. "Man, I can't make a shot today," Laurent muttered to himself.

The once faint stinging from the cut on his arm had escalated due to the smack, but Laurent ignored the stinging bites of pain. Once again, Laurent was left laughing at what he thought to be foolishness coming from the girl. "Are you a fool? I come here to kill and you decide you want to play with me? Fine, play your games. I won't complain, only makes my job easier," Laurent said, ending with a slight chuckle. With that, Laurent aimed, firing two quick shots at the girl's legs for the sake of toying with her as well. However, he didn't dare make it an easy shot as he added in a few fake illusion bullets to go and "attack" the girl. For the most part, Laurent was feeling fine, especially since he hadn't moved very fast from his originals spots and not to mention he'd only been throwing knives and now a few gun shots. With an unoccupied left hand, Laurent reached back to draw one of the short swords he'd brought in order to parry away a possible attack from Princess.

Vashti didn't think it was over yet, but seeing as he seemed to be giving it his all that was why she had stopped figuring she only really needed to defend herself by this point. "I'm not sure if I believe that." Maybe that side of the family, but this side would not allow you to call yourself a dog.... "If you say so though." She added, figuring she could correct him on it another time. His question hadn't surprised her, "The same reason I know your name, Laurent." She made sure to take her time before calling him by first name once more. "I never expected it to, I have my own reasons for disagreeing with your title and in the end you might come to find them to be very good reasons as well." She figured for him to be attacking her, he must not know she was his half sister. "Don't blame yourself Laurent, I'm pretty fast, can you catch up?" She hadn't heard his comment, he just had that face expression.

"Are you bothered by my choice of fighting skills?" She asked before adding, "You thought I was going to kill you?" Of course he does, he doesn't know I'm his sister.... The thought to just claim it already was screaming at her but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. "I am far from done." She answered him back, she wasn't going to make his job easier, she would go on the defense and giving him hell that way. He aimed to fire two shots at her and she swung her sword to make them go off balance from her. Though the illusion shots had come at her and she couldn't tell which ones were real and which ones were fake. So one of the real bullets got her in the leg anyway. She saw him pull one of his short swords out. I need to move, I don't plan on killing him, but Oliver has had long enough of a head start.... I should leave now.

She took a few steps back, finding it harder with the bullet in her leg, since she had been bleeding earlier from the dagger that had hit her shoulder. "As much as I'd love to play with you some more Laurent, I'm done here." I normally kill my target, but I can't hurt you... but I don't think I'll last much longer here either.... She turned and tried finding the exit to leave him here.

There was a lot Laurent could say about family, and certainly the parents who'd raised him would've spoken out against him calling himself a dog or mutt. Both titles had been given because of his loyalty to Aaron, and they had stuck to Laurent, despite the fact they could be seen as unsavory. A small laugh was Laurent's response to the girl's reasoning on why she wouldn't want him calling himself dog. "Then you must have one weird reason, 'cause most people call me that. And I highly doubt I will be agreeing with you anytime soon," Laurent responded. Little did Laurent know who exactly the girl was, but an explanation wouldn't have given much assistance either. Even though they were siblings, Laurent would still view Princess as a stranger. "Heh, not one bit, especially if it keeps you from taking my life. I won't complain if you're going to give this clever dog some time to think out his plans. And why wouldn't you? I came here for blood! Man, you might be the weirdest bodyguard I've ever fought," Laurent responded, his voice hinted with confusion.

To Laurent, the concepts were simple, he'd come to kill which meant a bodyguard would have every reason to attempt to kill him. Yet, this bodyguard in particular treated him as though they were old chums from years ago, even though Laurent was actually drawing blood and trying to at that. When the girl said she was far from finished and shifted into a more defensive position, Laurent couldn't help, but grin slightly. The girl hadn't yet seen the length of his illusion ability, which included creating fakes. When his pair of bullets hit, Laurent felt rather pleased considering he hadn't hit a single bullet, up until now. Observantly, he watched as she stepped back and said that she had to go, Laurent could only laugh. "What happened to 'I am far from done'? Besides, I can't just let you leave," Laurent said, his illusion ability reaching out to hide the exits. Once again, Laurent aimed his gun, this time aiming to hit Princess's other leg, which would hopefully disable movement. Once again, he made his various fakes to hide the true bullet from the girl.

Although Laurent hated killing, he knew that at least disabling the bodyguard for a period of time was necessary, he needed answers after all. These answers were particularly related to the fact that she knew his first name, and yet they hadn't met. This possibly meant that someone was supplying information to the bodyguard, making him and his allies in danger. "Sorry, but I need answers, Princess. Which means I'm not letting up," Laurent said.

Vashti looked at Laurent, "I'm pretty sure if you knew my reason you wouldn't be thinking it weird in the end. Because I'm sure your lying about your family, no family would let you get away with such a title. So I'm going to assume they don't even know." Seeing as I just found out. Who ever your boss is, we are going to have a little chat about that title of yours. "Most people aren't me and based from your comment, I think your family doesn't either. Somebody is in trouble." Not really, but you will learn to stop calling yourself that.... "Yeah that is true, if you knew who I was, I don't think you'd care all that much about my reason but one can hope anyway." His comments about her being a body guard, she had to remind herself that he was here to kill her since he didn't get to kill Oliver. "I don't think your family would approve of such a job...." She answered him back, hers did because she was Mafia, but she knew bits and pieces of his past, as far as she was aware his family was somewhat normal.

She knew he had a sister, it gave her hope to believe if he had known who she was, he might have treated her somewhat differently, but she was to prideful to give him such an answer. Not to mention she hadn't gotten the news of his sister being dead, if she had, she would have taken the task upon herself to end whoever was responsible. The girl wasn't her sibling, but Laurent was, it didn't matter if they never met before, he was her brother, she wouldn't harm him and would want him any chance of happiness, except killing Oliver, that would be a big no no. "I have every reason to go easy on you Laurent." She finished, leaving the comment as that. I wouldn't be a very good sister if I went out of my way to try and kill you. Siblings come first. I saved Oliver, now I need to figure Laurent out. "I must confess, had your boss sent somebody else, this fight would be over because I would have killed them by now. Sounds like your boss found my weakness." She wasn't happy for confessing such a comment.

Vashti had tried to flee, but Laurent had hid the exits from her. I would rather die then kill him. "I think your can't is an understatement." She corrected him when he aimed to shot at her, she swung her sword so that the bullets missed. "You know, I don't think your sister would like your job." She would let him believe she was talking about Sophie, but she was talking about herself. Though she knew the comment would hit a nerve, one that she was counting on to help her. "I've decided, as soon as I get myself out of this mess, your boss is going to have me as a visitor, throwing you to kill my brother was a huge mistaken on his part." She was pissed, not at Laurent though, his boss likely knew about Laurent being her sibling, she couldn't kill her sibling, it wasn't going to happen.

His words, he needed answers and she wasn't going to give them to him. "I'm not answering your questions Laurent, your boss knew what he was throwing you into, I know he was counting on you killing me, just as he was counting on you to kill Oliver. Why not? My brother is the leader and I'm his second in command." She tilted her head to the side, "I will give you a clue, if you kill me, I believe you will regret it in the near future. I know your sister would never approve of such an action." Her father had claimed to have seen Sophie once when he was having Laurent followed, he said she was a nice girl and how it was a shame that she wasn't in his blood, it made Vashti feel unworthy, working harder to impress her father since she was still around.

"You know, my father would have liked you..." She wasn't lying, Marcus would have been proud over his son, which is a reason why she believed Oliver had gone over the edge as he had. Vashti was done here though, she was becoming to tired to fight on, at this point she could see herself using her shields if it meant keeping more of his bullets off in the meantime.

[Laurent Maythorn]

It was true, Laurent's parents had no clue about what his job was, the pair only knew the bodyguard part of it. That certainly brought some concerned, but not enough to stop Laurent from participating in his full line of work. "How would you know, Princess? You've never met them. But I guess you're probably making presumptions," Laurent responded, adding a slight chuckle. If his parents had heard the title, they would've pestered him until he told them everything, which mean they couldn't hear a word of. As for Sophie, she would've pulled off some puppy-dog eyes and probably get all the information she needed, then told him to never call himself that again. At the mention of his family not approving of his work, Laurent shrugged. Truly they wouldn't, especially his soldier father who wouldn't like the idea of his son killing, or at least not this way. "Not many would, but this is a job, so that means I'm going to do it."

There was one thing Laurent knew, which was that Sophie was his only true sister, the person he'd grown up beside. It had never mattered that they were only half related, all that had mattered was that they loved each other like siblings. Silently, Laurent remained where he was with a small smile on his face, just listening as the wounded girl continued to talk. She even stated how his boss probably had a plan with sending him here to kill Oliver, a plan that would give Laurent the advantage. "Heh, probably. And you sound a little confident there, Princess," Laurent teased. He watched as the girl swung her sword and blocked the actual bullet along with his illusions, however that wasn't what bothered him. Once the word sister entered the air, Laurent's eyes went dark as his mind traveled back to remember Sophie, to remember how he promised to keep her safe, only to ultimately fail. As far as Laurent knew, this girl was talking about Sophie.

"As far as I am concerned, Sophie is dead, you witch," Laurent said in a grave tone. Mentioning Laurent's sister was never a good thing to do, mostly because he hated talking about her since she had been killed. If the girl had said any other words, it hadn't mattered since Laurent had long refused to listen to them, only using the words for possible location. He pulled the mist in, making it difficult to see him once again. Once he was concealed within the illusion, that was when Laurent began taking the fight more seriously than he had before. There was no more time for the games, no more time to tease the girl, it was about disabling her movement and questioning her about what she knew. Laurent fired a shot, aiming for the girl's hand with a hope of knocking the sword away from her. The bullet fired alongside his many fake shots that were practically surrounding his target to make it more difficult to block his hits.

He shot two more bullets, aiming for the legs in hope to knock the girl down, and as always, he accompany the real bullets with fakes. Unfortunately for Laurent, he didn't have many left, and if this girl wasn't trying her all yet, he knew he would be forced to save a few. Thus, he opted to place his gun back into his pocket and rely on his throwing knives for a second volley of attacks.

The air had shifted when she had mentioned his sister, his words came out cold when he spoke to her. "That is a shame, she was such a nice girl." She stated but didn't think that Laurent had heard her. What'd you do? Kill your own sister? Laurent had pulled the mist in making it impossible for her to see him, it meant that it was time for her to leave, but she couldn't seem to find the exit. She could hear the shot, her sword moved, but not fast enough for a bullet to hit just above her wrist. The sword fell onto the ground and she was forced to create a force field, she picked up her sword with her free hand and placed it back onto her belt. It was game over if she couldn't be the last one standing that is all she had to say on the subject. She couldn't see him, but she knew he might still be slightly paying attention to her. "So this is it I suppose..." She spoke before adding, "Is this what happened to your sister? Did you kill her too?" Oh crap.... bad choice of words.... he doesn't know I'm his half sister.

Getting him pissed off was the least of her problems, but if she was going to die she wanted to know if he had been the one to kill Sophie or if he meant she was alive and didn't look at her like a sister anymore. She hoped his sister wasn't dead because there was still hope for him after all, but nobody went through that much anger unless they were hiding something. If she didn't know better though, the fear of his sister being dead was a true fact though, with left her only hoping that he hadn't been the reason for that death. Not even him threatening to kill her would get her to talk, he wasn't going to know about her being his half sister if he would end up killing her anyway. She swallowed, pulling out her phone she sent a text message to Oliver, telling him she would be late, he'd know that to mean that she was dead if she didn't show up though, giving him any reason to get out of town to avoid being caught by Laurent a second time.

She placed her phone back into her pocket, holding this shield up was becoming harder. "Your not going to get me to talk Laurent, get your boss to give you answers. I promise you though, you'll never kill Oliver." She spoke, clearly not bothered by death being so close to her. Her shield fall down, by this point she was out of energy, she was bleeding from her shoulder, her wrist hurt because she had a bullet go through it and leg hurt because she had been shot earlier. I need to get out of here, else I'll be dead too. It wasn't fear of her own life, but fear her brother would be killed, either one of them by this point. She turned to flee but tripped from her injuries.

Ignoring any further words, Laurent began his assault from within the safety of his illusion. Clearly, the mentioning of Sophie had agitated him, causing Laurent to wish to complete the mission and return home as fast as possible. Upon hearing the clatter of a sword falling to the floor, Laurent knew he'd successfully hit the girl without the need to see what had happened. He watched at his other two bullets did no damage due to a shield suddenly appearing to protect the girl from further harm. While he created fake bullets to wait out the shield, Laurent listened as the girl swung an accusation at him about killing Sophie. "... I'm revolted that you would think I would do such a thing. SHE WAS MY SISTER! I would never hurt her, I even lost an eye to protect her," Laurent responded angrily.

Not once Laurent had been accused of killing Sophie, up until now that is, and being accused only made it worst. There was never a reason to even hurt Sophie, and Laurent wouldn't have done any harm to Sophie even if there was. Silently, Laurent watched as the girl began to text from the safety of her shield, and the signs made Laurent guess that she figured her fate was death. "Oh, I'll be sure to tell him about the little witch who knew quite a bit about me. For all I know, you got your information from a leak," Laurent growled. He saw the shield go down, but before Laurent had time to fling another knife, the girl fell from her injuries. Slowly, Laurent advanced, keeping a cautious eye on the girl all the while, the mist illusion fading during his advancement. "And I promise, nothing is going to stop me from my mission. Besides, it's not my choice, it's my boss's choice," Laurent said as he grabbed the gun and aimed.

He only had a single bullet left, which meant that if he missed the next shot he would have to use different ideas. Laurent stood silently, not pulling the trigger as he watched the girl. "Last chance, want to tell me anything? A name? Last words?" Laurent asked as he stood before the girl. He already knew what he was about to do, and with no appetite to kill, he knew he would at least rouse some fear.

Vashti listened to his words, he was pissed off, though she believed him. It made her feel at ease to know that he hadn't been the one to kill his sister. She couldn't help but wonder how his half sister had died though, clearly Laurent wasn't going to share information on the subject so if she lived through this she would have to go digging around for it herself. He even went as far as to say what had happened to his eye, she looked away from him knowing if there was any chance of being safe now, her being a complete stranger wouldn't solve the problem. "You won't." She corrected him, "Because if you do, I know you'll regret it later." She answered, allowing the comment to slid since he didn't seem to know who she was. His boss choice huh? I'll have to pay him a visit if I live through this....

His gun was aimed at her, she found herself looking at him confused since he hadn't bothered to fire at her. Last chance, I need to make this last move count. It took a lot of effort but she slowly forced herself to stand up. She wouldn't be killed by laying on the ground, it wouldn't happen, she was to prideful for such an action. "Evans." She answered, mostly to see his reaction on the name. "If you want more information ask your boss. I expect you to kill me and I'm not saying anymore on the subject." The fear of death hadn't crossed her mind, the fear of Laurent actions though, she couldn't help but worry over him, what he had been through. How she might have been able to have helped him, had she known, had she gained the courage to seek him out.

"Don't you know it's rude to point your gun at somebody unless your prepared to shot at them?" She asked, feeling the pain through out her body. She honestly though he was going to shoot her, she wasn't sure if she was happy or upset about it. She felt like she had failed as a sister, to Oliver, to Laurent. Though she couldn't bring herself to stay silent on the subject. She closed her eyes as she fought hard on her next move, he knew for what ever reason she hadn't fought him, had given him her all. "You know, even if I could fight you. I'm glad I didn't." Her eyes opened again as she was looking straight at him. Brother.
