The First Day [OPEN]

[Kujo Hiragi]

"My path to becoming a vigilante starts now!... Alright, maybe that's too melodramatic" That was Kujo's first thought after she crossed for the first time the gates of the Chasers' Academy that morning. After quickly leaving her things in her dorm room and having a quick shower, she attended her first day of school. Walking calmly, she noticed how some people were staring at her almost too long. It was not missed that there was a new student.

Whistling a song, she struggled to find the classroom she belonged to, and the fact that everyone seemed to know where to go unsettled her a bit. After walking around the school, she found a teacher that could solve her doubts about the class she had to be in, and he accompanied her to the door. He asked Kujo if she could wait and then opened the door and entered, it turned out that he was her teacher. She stood on the door while hearing the teacher's apologies about coming late again, and then he told her to enter. Kujo gazed around the classroom, with a feeling of nervousness that was uncommon for her.
The teacher gave a speech about getting along and finally, let Kujo do her own introduction. She took a breath and smiled as best as she could

"Hello there, my name is Kujo Hiragi. Ehmm, I like music, err, sweets and... for Luz's sake I'm being so boring. Well I guess that's it. I hope I get along with everyone" her attitude was confusing, it was almost impossible to say if she was a girl or a guy.

After being told where to sit, she let herself fall on the chair and almost managing to not fall asleep until lunchtime, where she remained there like a part of the scenery, with her legs stretched and gazing up to the ceiling looking like she'll fall asleep at any given moment.

Kristina had gotten up early to start class, so it didn't help when she was on time to class and one of her teachers being late. That was the problem with this school, many of the teachers judged her friend but they didn't even make it on time to class themselves, the nerve of it all. When the new student walked in she found herself staring at them. She couldn't tell what gender they were but it didn't matter because she was only here to get better control of her powers and help fight off Darkness, with finding Dream before the other Chasers did. Seeing as the bounty had been changed from capture to kill. She swallowed as she listened to the new student speak about themselves. The name made her think female, but she wasn't going to guess, not when she was sitting in front of her peers. Kujo had taken a seat next to her and the teacher started talking about the subject once more, when it seemed like class was finally coming to a close he asked her assistance and she stood up from the class.

That is right, one might find her to be a book warm, but this scholar was here to help anybody out that needed help with the ropes. He had asked her for a different favor though and she found herself looking towards Kujo. "Yeah that will be fine." It looked as if Kujo had been in the process of falling asleep, but there would be no mistaken in this, after what the teacher had requested and her staring at Kujo, she was sure that the new student wouldn't had missed it and had every reason to stay awake. When the class came to a close she had returned to her desk for her backpack. "Kujo was it?" She asked, looking back towards her. "I'm Kristina, but I like to go by Kris." She stated, reaching her hand out for Kujo to take if they so chose to do so. "I hope you don't mind, but I've been asked to show you around."

Sure she had been here for only a few days herself but she knew the ropes of this place pretty well, seeing as she had dealt with Darkness since moving here. The biggest thing she had to get used to though, was having powers, she had come across them late, so much in her past had happened, one that would be a closed book unless you were one of her closest friends. "Since lunch is currently, lets get in line so that you can get something." She finished, leading Kujo out of the room. She looked over her shoulder to see if she was being followed.

Contrary to what it may look like, Kujo was more like dozing off from the universe rather than falling asleep, and just when she was about to actually start sleeping when she heard someone calling her by her name. She shaked her head and rubbed her eyes trying to repel the sleepiness from her being. Then she looked around searching for the owner of the voice. She found it almost right away, being at her side.

"Oh, nice to meet you Kris!" Kujo smiled and shaked her hand, speaking with something called 'charm'

Hearing that Kris was assigned to show her around kind of incomodated her; Kujo prefers to do things alone, but since it seems like she had no other choice, she kept her smile and stood up from her chair to collect her schoolbag. She used the time Kris seemed to be distrcted to look at her. Kujo hasn't taken the time to get to know her classmates, but Kris seemed to be a nice person. Also a cool one.

Kujo didn't say anything at her suggestion, being a little bit hungry herself. She couldn't wait to befriend everyone in the class, and she would start by gaining Kris' affection. She was thinking about this when her guide turned around. Kujo tilted her head to a side and smiled.

"Lead the way!"

Kristina looked at Kujo when she had rubbed her eyes, when she gave a name back, Kristina just smiled at her when they shook hands. If she didn't know any better she would believe Kujo to be somewhat disappointed in her showing her around but it didn't matter because this would be the one and only time unless Kujo asked her personality next time. When Kujo had finished collecting her stuff, Kristina had gone to the door, but had looked back to see Kujo was following behind her. Kujo had made the comment about her leading the way and now it was Kristina's turn to smile before turning to show Kujo to the cafe. It was a few minutes later that she found herself in line with Kujo, first getting something to eat, she liked grabbing salads because they were quick and small.

She paid for a bottle of water before stepping out of line with her tray in hand, first she would eat her meal and then she would show Kujo the rest of the academy, giving them extra time to still make it on time to class. That was assuming Kujo was in the same classes as her of course, but if she didn't know better she had realize to believe Kujo to be in at least another of one of her classes, but she could be mistaken. "So how are you liking your first day here and all?" She asked finally, leading them to a table before sitting down across from Kujo.

Kujo followed Kris without questioning, looking around the school now that she could see it clearer than in the morning. It was nice, it was everything she could say. She also imagined everyone in the school fighting together against Darkness, she hoped she would see something of the sort one day. Kujo didn't notice how actually hungry she was until they arrived at the cafeteria, and she impatiently moved her hands while they gave her her meal, which consisted in a sandwich and a bottle of water.

While going to a free table, Kujo thought about trying to start paying attention to classes. She didn't know that much about Darkness but some gossips and things people talk about in the streets, just the basics. After ll, she had to know what was she supposed to fight in the near future. Thing is, Kujo had never been the most brilliant person in terms of studying. She cut her thoughs after she sat down and attacked her food.

"I like this place! The school is very- interesting. Everyone was staring at me awkwardly, but I think they are friendly. Right?" she swallowed mid sentence

Kujo still needed to know some places and other minor things about the academy, such as where's the library. So even though she wasn't excited about Kris showing her around, it may be useful in some way.

Kristina was glad to see that Kujo seemed to be enjoying the food as she slowly finished her salad she looked over at Kujo who had asked her a question but she wasn't completely sure on how she would go about answering it. "For the most part yes...." Not those who were planning on killing Dream or Fang though.... "Just keep in mind there are brats at every school." She finished, seeing a few of them walking by her to find their own table. They had glared at her before starting on their meal. "You'll get used to it though." She finished with a smile on her face. She took a drink of her water, waiting for Kujo to finish she stood up and got rid of her tray, showing Kujo where to place it before asking, "Where would you like to go next?" Then a thought had crossed her mind, she needed to get herself a new novel, so she found herself leading Kujo towards the library even if that wasn't the place she had wanted to go next.

She slowly came to a stop, "This is the library..." She opened the doors and held it for Kujo before walking in after her. The library was huge, with many different sections of books. She slowly made her way around the library to find a book she wanted to check out before stopping in front of the counter. "So this is the library." She finished, she had let Kujo roam, finding it would be easier for her to find everything here without her help unless she of course had asked for it. She placed the novel in her backpack, "Would you like to linger here a little bit longer?" She asked as she leaned against the counter, truth be told she wasn't quite ready to leave, but they still had more ground to cover if she wanted to show Kujo the rest of the campus without being late for their next class.

Kujo focused on finishing her sandwich quickly to satiate her hunger, and she found out that she was still hungry after taking a last bite. Unfortunately, she was out of money for the day so she couldn't go back to the line and ask for something else. She noticed how Kristina's voice turned weird but paid no mind to it and just followed her to dump her tray, quickly finishing the bottle of water to dump it as well. She pondered about the places she would like to know, and decided on one that could be useful for her style.

"I don't know... the gym maybe?" she said but Kris seemed to go somewhere else.

However, she didn't minded. Kujo would find it eventually either with Kristina's help or by herself. Her eyes widened when she entered the library; she wasn't a reader, actually considering books kinda boring, but she didn't expect the library to be that big. Kujo saw that Kris was looking for something so she walked quickly around to explore, but eventually she got bored of looking at the shelves. She thought about borrowing one, but she knew she would never finish it, so decided against it and reunited with Kris on the counter.

"Ehh, as you wish. Oh, can I see the gym?" Kujo wanted to be heard this time, but she didn't minded if her guide decided against it.

Kristina had heard Kujo request the gym, but she had been there so often and the library was on the way it seemed only fitting to show her where the library was seeing as she would likely have to get some books from there anyway. When Kujo once again mentioned the gym she slowly moved away from it. I know I'll make it back here sooner or later, so I'm in no rush.... She thought to herself as she lead the way out of the library. "Yes we can go to the gym next." She wasn't sure why Kujo would be looking for the gym but it didn't matter she would lead the way regardless. It was a few minutes later that she opened the door open for Kujo to walk inside before following her in to the gym. A place for training, there was also another door farther in that lead to the pool area.

"So this is the gym." She answered, remembering that she had met Yurie here before she had became a student and then had let him into the pool area to show him her water element. "Beyond those doors is the pool, there is a bathroom with lockers for boys and girls also in there. Though you can get to those bathroom lockers through those doors because they are interlocked." She stated as she pointed it all out to her. She then look towards the other side of the room, to show they even had a fitness center but it was much smaller, seeing as most training was for one to control their powers. Many would jog to keep fit but they still had it for anybody that needed to work out. "What brings you to the gym, you seem highly interested in coming here." She stated, but was also curious.

Hearing that this time Kris seemed to hear her request made Kujo jump a little in excitement, she wanted to look at it because having to pay a membresy in some other gym in the city was something that kind of made her struggle given her financial situation. Once again, Kujo followed her guide silently through the school, receiving the same glances from the people, but ignoring them.

When Kris opened the door to the gym, she entered while holding her excitement. It was bigger and more complete than she expected. She was looking around and peaking through the doors as her guide explined everything, stepping away from the lockers once she saw some guy taking off his swimsuit. She smiled a bit awkwardly and walked to some training dummies. Kujo hit them once to see if they could resist, and smiled once she confirmed she could show her power. She took a deep breath while thinking about how to answer her reasons, deciding that actions were better than words.

"I hope no one hears it. If someone comes, tell them that it's just me"

Kujo faced the dummy in a long distance and focused. She thought about her power, and just by her will a blue machine gun with the shape of a cross materialized in her hands, it was almost her size but she started shooting it to the dummy like it was nothing. After firing some rounds, she now focused on her assault rifle, which transformed the machine gun. Kujo tried to aim for the head, but some bullets missed. Determined, she vanished her rifle and materialized her twin shotguns, firing them to the dummy while walking close. After firing four rounds each, she vanished her shotguns and turned to Kris with a bright smile.

"This! I wanted to see if I could train my power here... what can you do?" she dashed to Kris and planted her face at mere centimeters of Kristina's, gazing at her eyes with the same smile. She truly seemed like a little kid at that time.

Kristina watched Kujo hit the dummy, when Kujo explained herself, Kristina moved back as Kujo faced a dummy and all of a sudden a blue machine gun was in her hands. As the gun went off she got looks but she ignored them. When the gun finished it disappeared being replaced by an assault rifle, as she tried aiming for the dummy head, Kristina was starting to understand her power and figured it might be good to help Kujo get better aim with it, but seeing as she hadn't fired a gun in a long while she didn't know where to start. Then it disappeared and was replaced by twin shotguns, one that she had much more experience with but once more hadn't fired in years. Kujo was moving closer to the dummy as she fired, when the guns vanished she smiled back at Kujo as she explained how she wanted to see if she could train her power here.

When Kujo asked what she could do she walked towards the pool area. "Well." She answered as she opened the door for Kujo to walk inside before following. To her surprise she saw nobody in the pool. Good. She walked to the edge and took off a glove before touching the water with her hand, causing the water to ripple. She took her hand out of the water and caused the water to move slightly, there was no way one could move the water without touching it. She then moved back to create a water ball in her hand. "I can control water." She paused, forcing the water to move to one side of the pool, it moving up until it came back down, she allowed it to splash them on purpose.

"It's becoming much easier to control, but I still have plenty of work to do." She explained walking away from it. "I'm also immortal, I'm not completely sure what exactly that means. I know that when I'm sick I don't appear to be sick but I'm limited on that. Though I have foresight." She changed the subject, showing Kujo hand before replacing her glove on it. "I can see the past by contact, sometimes the future, though most of the future come at random without contact." She finished as she slowly lead Kujo away from the pool area, she liked being in the other part of the gym, finding herself spending less time practicing her water element.

Kujo's smile got erased from her face as Kris seemed to not care about her attempts at being playful, only to return a second later like it was never gone. Following Kris to the pool, she already thought that her power had something to do with water; it caught her attention. She stood in the edge of the pool and looked at her reflex, she truly seemed like a boy. Kujo shrugged off this thought and stepped aside to not interfere with the other girl's concentration.

The fascinated expression on Kujo's face said it all about Kris' power. If she managed to gain Kris' friendship, the plan of inviting her to a beach day was discarded or else Kujo would suffer from some heavy pranks; it's not like she went to the beach too much either anyway. For a moment she thought that the wave Kris caused would be strong enough to wet her, but calmed herself when she stepped apart from the edge.

As she was explaining, her words confused Kujo as they came out of her mouth So she gets sick but she doesn't look like she's sick so she is not sick... What?. But the foresight part kind of surprised her, it would be something annoying to have, seeing stuff without controling it, but still it could be interesting seeing a person who could control that power completely. She asked some questions that she hoped don't annoy Kris.

"So you decide between past and future or...?" obviously, she had no idea something like that existed in real life, though in this school it could be normal

Kristina hadn't meant to be rude, but she hadn't noticed Kujo's smile disappear just to reappear again either. As much as she hated to admit it, she was slightly distracted with so many other things going on in her life right this moment. Though showing somebody else her water element had brought a smile to her face, strangely enough that power brought her joy even though when she first got it, it scared her to death because she couldn't control it. She was happy to see that Kujo seemed impressed by her power. When she tried explaining the immortal power it wasn't coming out the way she wanted it to and she noticed Kujo was getting confused by it. "I mean, I can't die if I get sick.... and that is all I know about it." She didn't know that she wouldn't be able to age either, come the next few years she would still look around the same age as she is currently.

Though when she mentioned the foresight she wasn't bothered by Kujo's question. "I can't decide, it is completely random." She answered, "I mean when I don't make contact as far as I'm aware it has only been the future I see.... but for contact it picks and chooses, but it most commonly is the past I see. If that makes any sense." She didn't want to say that it only showed her a few hours into the future because that could change and she didn't want to have to correct herself later. "So do you like water?" She had noticed the face expression earlier, no it hadn't gone unnoticed and if one hadn't paid attention they would have noticed that Kristina seemed to like the water.

The pool wasn't the only place she found herself practicing either, ever since she got a better grip of it she had been going out to the beach for better practice seeing as there was more water to work with. "I only ask because the pool is great and all but it is somewhat limited." Yup, she was going to share her thoughts on the subject. "Since becoming so much better with my water element, I've been practicing over at the local beach." She explained, pulling out her phone she checked the time to make sure that they had time to still make it to class, she wasn't one for attending but today was a bad day for her to miss any too.

She shoved the phone back into her pocket as she waited for Kujo to answer, unaware of the thoughts that had crossed her mind about the beach already. There really was no rush to leave either, seeing as she liked being in the gym more than those class rooms, not to mention they kept talking about Darkness but she got most of her information from the books they wanted her to read from anyway. She hoped to get a mentor soon so that she could start training.

The attempt of explanation from Kris about her inmortality left Kujo just the way she began, but at least she knew something. Kujo wondered if it was possible for her to be murdered, but obviously, none of them wasn't going to try and challenge that power in specific. Personally, Kujo liked her own power, even though she needs some practice with her accuracy; and she would surely enjoy it when she gets a good technique.

When her guide explained about her other talent, Kujo couldn't decide if Kris was terrible at explanations or she was terrible understanding things, most probably the latter, since it kind of made a little sense at least. She didn't keep pushing the matter.

"Kind of"

The beach or pool topic was something weird to talk about if she was nearby. Kujo liked water, actually swimming pretty well, but she just looked so awkward with her swimsuit. She remembers one time when some people she met a few time ago invited her to the pool, and when they saw her with the swimsuit the entire family was shocked; turns out everyone thought she was a he. That's why it's kind of a weird topic. Kujo tried to answer to her question but cut herself out after Kris began explaining. She didn't minded, since this time Kujo understood what she meant.

"Err, I like water. I kind of swim well, but when people see me with a swimsuit... meh, I'd rather not attend pools or beaches"

As simple as that, beach days weren't her favorite type of days. Neither hot days, given that she is forced to use light clothes. One would think that Kujo tried her best to look like a male, but actually it's just her genes that gave her short hair, a man's head shape and the fact that she looked much better in a suit than in a maid costume.

Kristina knew there might have been a better way to explain her powers but she just, wasn't sure if it was worth much of the effort, seeing as she still had questions about it herself. Though asking about the beach or pool she found herself talking instead of giving Kujo much chance to reply. Though to her disappointment, Kujo didn't seem to like the idea of being in a pool or around the beach. Or at least that is how she took it anyway. "Oh I see." She answered back, just accepting the answer for what it was. They still had plenty of time to explore before lunch was over. "Did you have another spot you wanted to check out before your next class?" She asked, opting to possibly skip the rest of the day, to her, being in class reminded her of how much she didn't like really being here.

She used to ditch so much before the death of her brothers, so for her to start attending now was a huge shocker. It didn't matter though because she never had trouble playing catch up anyway. She had noticed the formal wear, but chose not to say anything on the subject. She didn't mind being in a swimsuit even though it meant the tattoo on her back would be visible. Though she wasn't one for formal clothes, finding them more of a nightmare because her mother forced her to play dress up as a kid, though seeing Kujo in one reminded her that sometimes they could look nice. She couldn't see herself ever in one on purpose though and yet she wear high heel boots. I really need to get new ones, these ones are wearing down again....

With a small smile on her face she lead Kujo out of the gym, figuring it would be easier to finish the tour around the academy so that Kujo didn't risk getting lost when trying to find a place later. She shifted the backpack on her shoulder, so used to carrying it, but it was slowly falling off so she opted to grip it with her right hand so that it would stay on her shoulder.

Kujo didn't know what other place to visit. She liked music, but didn't know how to play any instrument. She made an effort to think about the common places in a school to just let time pass, but nothing came to her mind. Probably there were still some places left to see, and they were probably much better than being in classes. Right? So she left it on Kris' responsibility, who seemed to know this place for a while already.

"Don't know... any other place I should know maybe?"

Going by order of relevance was the most plausible thing for Kujo, and at this point she trusted Kris enough to let her take the lead. Once again, Kujo found herself following Kris rather than walking on her side, but this time she took a step beside her and slipped her hands in her pockets, trying to look as casually as possible. She saw some girls that were passing by whisper to each other and throwing glances at her, giggling. She looked down to her suit and adjusted the shirt's buttons and tie.

Kujo constantly wondered if her manly looks have attracted a girl's true attention. She remembers a time when a schoolgirl eating in a restaurant blushed heavily when Kujo sat down next to her because there were no seats left, and so they both ate with Kujo trying to make some conversation. When she finished and tried to leave the girl stood up and gave Kujo a piece of paper with what seemed to be her phone number. Turns out the girl developed one of those one hour crushes on Kujo. If you ask her personally, she would shrug and mentally count how many times that happened so far.
