Sleep was out of the question. Tayte hated sleeping and so instead he was pacing around his cluttered apartment. Everytime he looked at his bed he grumbled and continued pacing about. He hadn't slept in at least a week and with nothing else to do but pace he was going crazy. He couldn't got get coffee because it was too late. He couldn't go running out on the streets for fear of being attacked by Darkness. Finally Tayte decided on what he was going to do and began collecting things and throwing them into a bag. After he had gathered everything he thought he needed for his new adventure he left.
Tayte dodged around a few chasers out on patrols as he made his way to the gymnasium. They probably thought he was a razor or something whipping past them. He usually didn't go there considering the fact that he got enough exercise just being him, but today was an exception and he wanted to put himself to a sort of test. He had a scarf wrapped around his face and a large brightly coloured jacket on. Tayte was pretty sure it was meant for old ladies clinging to their youth, but he liked the colours so he had picked it out. The lady had given him a look when he bought it. Underneath that he had on a white button up shirt and black pants. He also had the bag strung over his back and already had running shoes in. Considering the speed he was moving running shoes were kind of a must.
When Tayte arrived at the gym he found it to be empty. Considering that it was a time most people were already at home he could understand that. So Tayte changed and then began preparing his self made test. He set up a device to measure his speed and then wandered over to the running track. It was pretty big, but the curves were pretty sharp curves so that might be a problem. There was no turning back now though. Now that he was here he might as well figure out how fast he could run.
Tayte counted down from three in his head and when his own countdown hit one he took off. He started off his normal speed which was already faster than most people could run and he only got faster from there. He got to the first curve and had no problem running around it so he sped up even faster. Soon he was zooming around the course so fast his skin felt like it was going to rip off of his bones. He sped up just a bit more before he found the speed where he hit the corner too fast. There was a split second where Tayte realized his mistake and then he was tumbling and rolling until he hit a wall. Tayte lay with his legs and arms splayed everywhere for a while trying to make his head stop buzzing.
