People tend to see Yurie as the calmer, more tranquil of the three siblings. While that is true, it’s honestly not by much. He simply takes things in stride and adapts with a little more easily than his brother and sister, plus hiding emotions under a semi-blank expression is a pretty simple thing to do. Like becoming a Chaser – a nerve wracking year of painful fun that had been, even if his fellow students had told him he makes it look so easy. His powers didn’t manifest until a little after his thirteenth birthday, so control shouldn’t have been as maintained as he had over it. Maybe it was talent. Unlikely. His own intelligence, more likely. Or the fact that nearly every game he’s own had a character that was the “chosen one” with their own quest and everyone playing knows how that song & dance goes. Most likely. Learning from how they adjusted made it a lot simpler than anyone ever could if they had to outright explain it to him. Even if none of them had his exact power, Yurie could piece what he had together well enough. Sure it was tough. And terrible things have happened still…
Yet two years later, here he is. Full Chaser with his own assignments and missions to complete. People dependent on him to pull his own weight around. That kind of responsibility was … “Too much.” He muttered while slumping his shoulders in mild defeat, for someone his age it was a little much. Not that he didn’t like what he did. Plus there are other Chasers here even younger than him that have gone through much worse and done a whole lot better. Hell, he gets to spar with a number of students in the Academy, with a good number of them able to kick his ass from one side of the room to the other if he’s not careful. It was good training for getting rid of Darkness which puts him closer to his dream. Not that he could ever turn down a good challenge in general. It is why he’s waiting around here for the student that wanted some combat practice before heading home for the day after all. So it’s not all that bad.
His phone buzzed in his pocket, he dug it out and opened the new message that came in.
From: AyTo: YuYou’re getting stressed out again.Over nothing!
He smiled fondly at the message that lit up his phone’s screen. Always like her to worry over him.
The door opened, Yurie slipped his phone back into his jacket’s pocket. “Just in time.” He said with a welcoming smile. “Anything in particular you wanted to work on?” He was no combat expert, maybe skilled at using weaponry and his defense and evasive stats aren’t nothing to laugh at, but not specialized in any area like the other Full Chasers were. He was only decent in most other areas. Barely good enough to pass. That was fine. Yurie loved to help others refine their powers and skills, find out the kinks and ways to fix them. He didn’t need to be great to do that. Just durable.
