Pan gazed at the solid doors which led to the grand library which awaited all book lovers of all ages. Smiling gently to herself, she pushed the doors open and took in the new atmosphere, clean scented air and only a few hushed whispers here and there. Large chocolate brown eyes stared at the columns of books, studying each label at the beginning of the rows until they landed on the words: "Fantasy Section". Walking over to the area with speed, she hurriedly made her way past the librarian who quickly shushed Pan for making too much noise. She had rolled her eyes secretly, knowing that nothing wrong had been done. Reaching the dusty books, her delicate finger tips brushed the spin, in her head she repeated, Avalon. The title of a book which she was assigned a book report on, much to her complaint. A certain vibrant colored cover caught the corner of her eye, reaching for the book, Pan pulled it from the shelf and read the title, quite pleased to find her search was over.
Sitting down at a lonely table, far away from any other humans, packed in a small corner which was dimly lit she opened the book. Skimming it, her expression soon showed that of boredom, eyes losing their glow. It was odd how easily a school book could become annoying, yet any other book would seem appeasing at the moment. Reaching for a bookmark, she placed it inside Avalon and quickly shut it, glad to be out of the 'fantasy world'. Looking around with groggy eyes, Pan shifted in the hard seat, confused as to what to do. She had promised one of her friends that she would stay out of the house for at least two hours before returning and playing the new video game she had gotten for Christmas. Just the thought of the animation made her go off into her own world, completely blind as to what she was doing.
Waking up in a start, she was surprised to see the lights in the library begin to dim as an announcement sounded over the intercom, "The public library will be now closing, thank you for coming and have a nice day!" Sitting still for a few moments, the next thing she did was jump from the table, rushing towards the door, calling out desperately, "I'm sorry! I'll leave now!" Rushing out of the doors, she panted before turning to lean against the outside wall of the library, collecting back her breath thinking, "I'm an idiot."
