Can I be staff?
No, staff members are chosen by staff members. Only people we feel are suitable and can be trusted will become staff. If you don't fill these traits, it simply won't happen.
Is the application a joining requirement?
Yes, all characters who are made must have one. This helps us organize and gives staff a little bit more control over perfection, strength of power, and not to mention unrealistic scenarios.
If I see a broken rule, is there anything I must do other than report it?
As long as you feel that the thread reported obviously explains the reason, then you will be fine.
Can my character be a part of the Darkness?
No, all characters must be remotely human and the Darkness is meant to be killed easily.
How long are Chasers trained for?
Characters who are apart of or are going to be apart of the Chasers will be trained until they have 150 posts if they start from the beginning. Classroom time is the first section, mentoring time is the section. Full Chasers are the ones who've gone through this and have a less of a chance of being injured or killed in battle against the Darkness.
What do I put for my display name, how do I change my display name?
The display name for your accounts should be the first and last name of your character. To change your display name, go to your profile and press "Edit Profile". After pressing that button you go to the "Personal" tab. It should be the first profile are you see in the tab. Then you change it and save the settings.
Can I use characters I've made on other sites?
Yes, as long as you can make an application for them.
Can my characters speak other languages?
Certainly, but we ask that you give a translation for what they're saying in this other language.
Why can't I share personal information here?
The site isn't built for these purposes and we would like to keep our members safe. You never know when someone could be lying about their age, or whatever and our first priority is the safety of our members.
If I have a more private question, can I personally message staff members on the site or on Chatango?
Yes, but we recommend personally messaging us on Chasing Darkness. This way when we go offline we will get a notification of the message.
Do I need a Chatango account for the chat?
No, there is a temporary name setting for the chat-box, but an account will give you more abilities in the chat.
Who are the chat moderators?
The staff on the site will also work as moderators in the chat. If you look in the Who's Who claim you will find their Chatango names if they don't match their OOC names.
Are members allowed to use anime versions of cartoon characters here?
Yes, we like to give members options.
Are Face Claims mandatory?
Nope, you can do as you please with your character's appearance.
Why do the site creators get to play the gods?
When the two gods were created, there was a set of advantages and disadvantages. It was also decided these characters would appear on rare occasions and wouldn't be used as a fully developed character. That is why the two creators of the site decided to just add the characters to their staff accounts, since they would rarely be used and to avoid people guessing when they're going to be used. (Ex. Luz's and/or Oscuro's account being active around the time a side-plot is up.)
How long is each year in the role-play?
A year in real life is a year here.
What powers are considered too powerful?
Powers that make it so you can't get injured and/or sick is one obvious one. We mostly don't like seeing invincibility. However, it will mostly be decided it once we get to see what powers you plan on having. If you're not sure if your power is too strong, then just personally message an admin or moderator. As of power numbers, you can only have one big power and two small powers if you do all the way to three. You are certainly not obligated to have three or to even have powers at all.
How big should my paragraphs be for the application?
A short paragraph should be four sentences at least, large paragraphs about eight sentences. For the history the paragraph should be two eight sentence paragraphs.
Why must I make my own form for the wanted ads?
It's so you get control over the character you need played. Us making a form would make it so you can't give the possible player things. Like you wanted to give the person who will play it the ability to decide personality traits then you can. It is all to give you choice.
Why can't I be a mentor if I joined the Chasers with 150 posts or more?
Everyone needs training, thus it was set up this way. It would also be unfair for the people who make Chasers and go through the training to find that someone just skyrocketed through it. It doesn't take long to get to 150.
Is there a certain amount of training posts I must achieve with my mentor?
There is no set amount, but you must have two hunting threads with your mentor. If you've had mentor issues, for example your mentors seem to keep going inactive, then you may just complete the final assignment at 150 or a few less posts.
Why is there no specific date in the seasons sidebar?
There is no specific date so people can use the liquid time perk we allow more freely, rather then a strict date, month, season sort of case.
Why can my character not be an animal?
This is a human anime role-play, which means being an animal won't keep you as involved. We also like the idea of people being able to talk with one another. It also keeps simplicity, but just for the animal lovers out there we will also shape-shifting.
