Snow drifted gently towards the ground, gathering in a thick carpet on the outside ground. Scott had stared outside his bedroom window, watching as the flakes flew towards the already snow covered ground. A small, lip tight grin appeared on the teen's face as he retreated from the window and towards his bedroom door. Silently, Scott open and closed the door, flying over the stair railing to arrive in the living room. Once his feet hit the floor, he scurried towards the front door to grab his coat. "Going somewhere?" A familiar voice asked from behind him. Turning on his heels, Scott came face-to-face with Beatrice, the friendly old caretaker who'd acted as his parent for years. "Yeah, I was hoping to go flying. If that's alright," Scott answered, his voice drifting quieter during the sentence.
Beatrice chuckled, "Go ahead, just be back before supper." With a fresh grin, Scott nodded and tugged his coat on before rushing out the door. A few slow steps were taken as Scott left the warmth of home and was welcomed into a chilly embrace. He rubbed his hands, but didn't go back for mitts nor did he return for his hat. Breaths of steam rolled from his mouth, showing off how cold the weather was on this winter day. Scott began to hover off the ground, floating just above the snow for a few moments before taking off. Ascending into the sky and above the trees, Scott soared through the cold air, his eyes scanning the white ground. Winter had long discoloured the area, leaving it a giant sea of white powder. Doing a small twirl in the air, Scott finally noticed the field below him, which was now a field of deep snow opposed to knee-high grass.
Descending out of the air, Scott lowered himself towards the snowy ground. Tiny crunches sounded from beneath the teen's feet as they plunged into the snow. The snow was high, and almost seeped into Scott's boots, which only caused concern. However, Scott didn't ascend into the skies again, for he decided to admire the beautiful snow covered trees that outlined the field.
